Cisco unified communications manager rapidshare
Unified Communications Manager Pre 9. Beyond this, they would have to buy additional new licenses. However, you must assign users and enable the IM and Presence Service Service for each assigned user.
With the Jabber for Everyone offer, no end user licenses are required to enable IM and Presence functionality. You can assign IM and Presence Service on a per user basis, regardless of the number of clients you associate with each user. When you assign IM and Presence Service to a user, this enables the user to send and receive IMs and availability updates.
If users are not enabled for IM and Presence Service , they will not be able to log in to the IM and Presence Service server to view the availability of other users, send or receive IMs, and other users will not see their availability status.
You can enable a user for IM and Presence Service using any of the following options:. When you install either Unified Communications Manager or the IM and Presence Service on a server, the installation process requires you to provide specific information. You can provide this information manually during the installation process or you can provide it using an answer file.
For each server that you install in a cluster, you must gather this information before you begin the installation process.
The following table lists the information that you must gather before you begin the installation. Because some of the fields are optional, they may not apply to your configuration. For example, if you decide not to set up an SMTP host during installation, the parameter still displays, but you do not need to enter a value. You cannot change some of the fields after the installation without reinstalling the software, so be sure to enter the values that you want.
The last column in the table shows whether you can change a parameter after installation, and if you can, it provides the appropriate menu path or Command Line Interface CLI command. We recommend that you make copies of this table and record your entries for each server in a separate table, even if you are planning to use the DMABackupInfo.
Administrator Credentials. Specifies the name that you want to assign to the Administrator account. After installation, you can create additional administrator accounts, but you cannot change the original administrator account user ID. CLI: set password user admin. Application User Credentials. Specifies the user ID for applications installed on the system.
Servers in the cluster use the security password to communicate with one another. Set this password on the Unified Communications Manager publisher node, and enter it when you install each additional node in the cluster, including IM and Presence nodes. You can change the security password on all nodes in the cluster using the following command:.
CLI: set web-security [orgunit] [orgname] [locality] [state] [country]. CLI: set web-security [orgunit] [orgname] [locality] [state]. Specifies the name of the SMTP host that is used for outbound email. You must fill in this field if you plan to use electronic notification.
If not, you can leave it blank. NIC Interface Settings. Virtual machines do not support this command. The MTU setting must be the same on all nodes in a cluster. The maximum transmission unit MTU represents the largest packet, in bytes, that this host will transmit on the network. The value must not exceed the lowest MTU size that is configured on any link in your network.
CLI: set network mtu [size]. Yes; for Unified Communications Manager nodes, choose one of the following:. CLI: set network hostname. The subnet mask together with the IP address defines the network address and the host address. The subnet mask must use the following format: CLI: set network dns primary [address]. CLI: set network dns secondary [address]. Represents the name of the domain in which this machine is located. CLI: set network domain [name]. Select the time zone that most closely matches the location of your machine.
CLI: set timezone [zone. After you install an unrestricted release, you can never upgrade to a restricted version. A fresh install of a restricted version on a system that contains an unrestricted version is also not supported. All nodes within a single cluster must be in the same mode. For example, Unified Communications Manager and IM and Presence Service in the same cluster must either all be in unrestricted mode or all be in restricted mode.
IP phone security configurations are modified to disable signaling and media encryption including encryption provided by the VPN phone feature. Be aware that after you install an unrestricted release, you can never upgrade to a restricted version.
You are not allowed to perform a fresh installation of a restricted version on a system that contains an unrestricted version. Cisco Unified CM Administration. Skip to content Skip to search Skip to footer. Book Contents Book Contents. Find Matches in This Book. PDF - Complete Book 2.

Touchless Install of Cluster Touchless installation allows you to complete a full cluster installation for Unified Communications Manager and IM and Presence Service in one seamless process. Add a Node to a Cluster Use these procedures to add and install a new node in an existing cluster. Topology Options This section provides an overview of the system topology and describes the relationship between the types of nodes in the topology. Clusters Clusters provide a mechanism for distributing call processing, presence status, and database replication among multiple servers.
Publisher Nodes and Subscriber Nodes Within a cluster, there is a database publisher for each type of node that you install. Topology Options When installing your cluster, you must decide on the topology that you want to deploy.
This allows you to transfer all the calls from your company phone to the mobile phone. The Phone Settings window allows you to set up phone settings for your company phones. By default, the phone settings for your various company phones are linked.
Under the default setting, each of your phones will have an identical configuration for a particular phone setting. Follow the Link and Unlink Phone Settings procedure to link or unlink your phones for various phone settings. Please note that the options available under Phone Settings apply only to your company phones. You cannot configure phone settings for your additional phones. For phone settings, you can link the settings for your phones.
When you link phones on a particular phone setting, Unified Communications Self Care Portal applies your configuration for that phone setting to all of your phones. For example, if you have three phones and you link your speed dial numbers for the three phones, all three phones share the same speed dial configuration. If you update a speed dial number for one of the phones, Unified Communications Self Care Portal automatically applies that speed dial number for the other phones as well.
To apply a unique phone setting on a linked phone, unlink the phones. Unified Communications Self Care links and unlinks each phone setting separately. As a result, you can link settings for one specific phone setting, such as speed dial numbers, while leaving another phone setting, such as voicemail notifications, unlinked. By default, all phone settings are linked. The icon displays the current state of whether your phones are linked or unlinked.
The following graphic displays how a set of devices with linked Services appears in the user interface. Since Services are currently linked, the Linked icon displays and the settings apply to all three devices. You can click the Linked icon to unlink the device and apply unique settings for each device.
The following graphic displays how a set of phones with unlinked Speed Dial Numbers settings appears in the user interface. Since the settings are unique for each phone, the Unlinked icon displays. You can click the icon to apply the same settings for all two phones. The Filter control, which appears in the top right corner of the configuration window, sets which phone you want to view.
It has no impact on whether phone settings are linked. If you view the settings of a phone whose settings are linked, and you update that phone's settings, Unified Communications Self Care Portal also updates the linked phones. You can set up speed dials for the phone numbers that you call frequently.
This allows you to connect with people, meetings, or any other connections with the press of a button. Enter the contact's name or phone number in the Number field. Unified Communications Self Care Portal searches the company directory.
You can only search the company directory if your network administrator has enabled you with the access permission. The access permission is set using the enterprise parameters of the Unified Communications Manager. Enter a description for the speed dial number in the Label text box. Your phone uses the description to display the speed dial number. Assign a speed dial number in the Speed Dial text box. Click Save. The phone services includes the directory, visual voicemails, or weather forecasts and so on.
However, the list of available services depends on your configured phone model. From the left navigation pane, click Phone Settings. From the Service drop-down list, choose the service that you want to add. In the Display Name text box, enter the label to identify the service on your phones. Voicemail notifications allow you to set up how you want your phone to notify you if there are any new messages. For example, you can configure your phones to provide screen prompts, flash message waiting light, or a shutter tone for a call to notify that you have new messages.
For each of your phones, check any of the notification options that you want to apply to your phones. Call history allows you to save the list of all the recent calls including the missed calls. If the to and from calls are from the same number, these calls are grouped together. Click Call History from the Phone Settings window. Check the Log Missed Calls check box for each phone number that you want to save the call history. Phone contacts allow you to store phone numbers and email addresses for your phone contacts.
From your phones, you can also browse your list of contacts and place calls directly from the contact list without having to type in the number each time.
Each user has one phone contact list for all their phones. There is no option to link and unlink the phone contact list.
You can set up the call forwarding option in Cisco Unified IP Phones and Jabber applications to forward your calls to another number. If you are away from your desk and do not want to miss your calls, you can forward all your calls to another phone number or to a voicemail.
With Unified Communications Self Care Portal, you can set up advanced call forwarding options, such as call forwarding behavior that is different for internal calls than for external calls.
